Tomáš Mocek is the Head of HiLASE R&D Centre tagged "New lasers for industry and research". The main mission of the HiLASE Centre is to develop laser technologies with breakthrough technical parameters. In general, those lasers will be significantly more powerful and efficient, more compact, more stable and more easily maintained than the currently available technology. The Centre is located in Dolní Břežany (Central Bohemia Region) being in full operation since January 2016. HiLASE is engaged in research cooperation with various institutions from around the world, particularly from Far East Asia (Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, Tohoku University, Japan Atomic Energy Agency, Utsunomiya University, Waseda University, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, National Institute for Fusion Science, Kyoto University).

Tomas Mocek completed his postgraduate studies in the field of Application of Natural Sciences at the Department of Physical Electronics, Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague, and at the Department of Physics, KAIST in Daejeon, South Korea.

The main specialization of Mr. Mocek is the development and interdisciplinary application of lasers, ionization by optical field, ultra-intense femtosecond lasers, generation of high harmonic frequencies, interaction between the laser radiation and matter, generation of EUV and X-rays from laser plasma, and diode pumped solid state lasers.
